I won’t say I’m sad to see Friday roll around this week, but I’m also not ecstatic since it’s Katie’s last Friday at home. Next Friday she and I will be Nashville getting ready to move her into the dorm for her sophomore year of college. Unbelievable. Unbelievable that summer has flown by and that she is starting her 2nd year of college. Time really does fly.
This week was very uneventful for us so I’m a little low on favorites. Tomorrow we are going into the city for the day to do our normal little routine and get some of our favorite eats before she leaves.
Just like every Friday I’m linking up with a bunch of sweet bloggers to share. You know, I use to love to read magazines, but they have been replaced with blogs. It’s amazing the sweet friendships I’ve made through this here little space. If you are looking for a way to connect with some really fun women, then be sure to check out some of the bloggers in the link ups.
Let’s get to it.
So while I’m a self declared summer time girl, I will admit that I like changing seasons and decor. I mentioned on my Insta story over the weekend these adorable pumpkins in the Grandin Road catalog. If you are a DIY’er these would be pretty easy to replicate and fun to do.
Hmmm…do you see a theme here? LOL. I wore some oldies but goodies this week. Yesterday I didn’t even put on makeup. (hence the shine on my forehead) I was being a domestic goddess and doing laundry and some cleaning so I just threw on my leggings and a favorite cozy tee and was good to go.
I shared this recipe yesterday. I’ve been making this for at least 10 years and we still like it just as much as the first time we had it.
Whenever we go into the city we have to plan for it to be about 20 degrees cooler than it is at our house and windy. I’m dying to wear my new tie front sweatshirt and thinking this just might be the perfect opportunity.
Saying I love to exercise might be an overstatement, but saying I love the way I feel when it’s done is definitely a favorite. I’m continuing to do the workouts from the FASTer Way To Fat Loss and getting stronger and can see the changes in my body. There’s another round starting up Monday and then another one will begin in September. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have about this program.

Oh sweet mama, we CAN do this! You look amazing and your workout regimen is to be envied! I love looking through the Grandin Road catalog…CUTE pumpkins!! That tie front sweatshirt is perfection on you! I'm thinking if you did go to college with Katie, the other girls would just think you're her sister, not her mom!!! You look THAT GOOD! 😉 Enjoy this weekend my love!!
Lisa says
Oh Andrea! You are the best! And if anyone could pass for a college girl, it's you my friend. I can't find a single wrinkle on that beautiful face. So not fair! Have a great weekend and kiss those boys every chance you get! XO

I'm starting the FASTer Way to Fat Loss on Monday–so excited! Any prep tips I can do over the weekend before we get started? Thanks!
Lisa says
Hi Sara!!! That's so great! I hope you like it. You'll be soar for a while, but then you know your working hard. I wish I had some super cool tips to share. I'd recommend looking at clean eating recipes on Pinterest and I shouldn't say this…but eating things you know will be off limits…LOL The hardest part is just measuring and logging food, but it will get easier. Good luck. Let me know if I can answer any questions as you are going along. Have a wonderful weekend. XO

Well you had me at 20 degrees cooler and windy! Oh how I would LOVE that weather. That little tie front sweatshirt will be perfect and it's so stinkin'cute on you! I'm sad to see Summer leave along with our college kids but I guess it has to be. I will say this year will be easier than last because we know what to expect so at least there's that. And the sweet new friends I've made blogging, like YOU! Have a marvelous weekend my friend!
xo,
Kellyann

Wish you could join us for a day in the city! It's fun and quite the sight. I hate to send her back and I know you do to, but you're right we at least know what to expect. I'm constantly telling Kent and Katie about things my friend Kellyann or Andrea or Allie or…so many new friends said. I just love all the sweet friendships through these blogs. Enjoy your time off this weekend. XOXO

I absolutely love that tie front sweatshirt! I'm starting to ogle non maternity clothes. I'm ready – ha! And it's so bittersweet. Her time to go back. I was the kid once going back and now as a mom, I can't imagine being on that end. I guess it's life. I read once where it's our job as parents to raise them so they can go on their own. We should never expect to keep them. I just don't know how I feel about that!! Ha. Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
Lisa says
You've got a little time before you have to worry about it thankfully, but I can tell you that the quote, "the days are long but the years are short" is 100% accurate. It's very bittersweet, but she's so happy there it makes me happy. Hope you're having a good week. (I like the striped dress…it looks so cute on you)

My kiddos go back on Wednesday. Wah 🙁 I am sure you'll miss all of the summer fun you've had with your daughter home, hopefully you'll see her on the weekends or soon after she goes back. I have cleaning/laundry days, too and it is nice to be comfortable! That bow tie sweatshirt is SO, so cute for a sweatshirt. I love bows. 🙂

Being two time zones away makes it a little more challenging (we're in CA and she goes to school in TN), but he go any time I can find a tiny excuse ? Happy Saturday!

1) You have a sophomore in college?!? Tell us your secret, please! You look amazing!
2) That chowder looks delicious!
3) I came so close to scooping up that tie front sweatshirt during the Nordstrom sale, but I figured it wouldn't fit my growing bump by the time it cools off in South Louisiana!

Lisa, I was inspired by you to try exercising again! I'm physically weak to the point of it affecting my posture and causing actual injuries, and I finally decided to do something about it by adding a few exercises into my day! 🙂
Lisa says
OH JESS!!!! That's great! I'm so happy it encouraged you. Bless your heart, I'm sorry you are feeling that way. Start little and work your way back sweet girl. Just build up your stamina. I'm so proud of you!!! XOXO
